
An incident of stealing cash worth Rs 1 lakh by breaking the trunk of a scooty in broad daylight in the Deglur Road area of the city has taken place. A case has been registered against an unknown thief at the Udgir Rural Police Station in this regard. According to the information received from the police, the complainant Shivkant Vishwanath Achary (age 54, vocational teacher, resident of Sameetra Colony, Udgir) had gone to the LIC office on Deglur Road at around 4:15 pm on Tuesday (19) to pay money. He had parked his scooty number MH 55-5108 near the office.
Meanwhile, unknown thieves seized the opportunity to take the scooter aside, smashed its trunk and stole a total of Rs 1 lakh in cash, including 1,000 Rs 100 notes. After realizing this, the complainant rushed to the Udgir Rural Police Station and filed a complaint. A case has been registered against unknown thieves in this case at the rural police station. The incident was registered on Friday (22). Police Constable Bhise is conducting further investigation into this crime under the guidance of Police Inspector Ashok Anantre.
