In 2021, the then additional district surgeon of Udgir incited another medical officer to kill a Muslim woman patient infected with COVID-19. His audio conversation has now gone viral. After this incident came to light, which brought shame to the medical profession, a case has been registered at Udgir City Police Station on the complaint filed by the woman’s husband. Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Sharad Pawar faction MLA Jitendra Awhad has expressed anger over this matter.
Jitendra Awhad posted on X that an audio clip of doctors from the Covid center in Nandedanaka area of Udgir during the Corona period has come to light after five years. While talking about a hospital bed where a Muslim woman was critically ill with Corona, Dr. Shashikant Deshpande is telling his assistant Dr. Shashikant Dange, why are you pampering that ***… kill her… make room for another patient… you are a ***. After this, the Muslim woman with this permanent surname dies during treatment.
