LCB Raids Udgir; Banned Gutkha, Tobacco and Car Worth ₹7.93 Lakh Seized.

In a major crackdown on the illegal trade of banned tobacco products, the Local Crime Branch (LCB) conducted a raid in Udgir and seized contraband goods valued at approximately ₹7.93 lakh. The operation resulted in the confiscation of banned ‘Vimal’ gutkha, tobacco products, and a vehicle allegedly used for transportation. Acting on specific intelligence inputs, LCB officials intercepted a suspicious vehicle carrying large quantities of prohibited gutkha and tobacco products. During the search operation, officers recovered several sacks containing banned chewing tobacco and gutkha packets intended for illegal distribution in the region. Authorities also seized the vehicle involved in the transportation of the contraband. The combined value of the seized goods and vehicle has been estimated at ₹7.93 lakh. Police officials stated that the action forms part of ongoing efforts to curb the sale and circulation of banned tobacco products, which pose significant health risks and violate state regulations. A case has been registered against the accused, and further investigations are underway to identify the source of the contraband and any links to larger distribution networks.

ST Bus Overturns on Udgir–Ahmedpur Route; Passengers Rescued Safely After Losing Control on Narrow Road.

A State Transport (ST) bus traveling on the Udgir–Ahmedpur route met with an accident after the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle on a narrow stretch of road. The bus overturned by the roadside, creating panic among passengers and nearby residents. According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred when the bus attempted to navigate a constricted section of the road. Due to limited space and uneven road conditions, the driver was unable to maintain balance, causing the vehicle to veer off the road and overturn. Several passengers were on board at the time of the incident. Local residents rushed to the scene immediately after the accident and joined rescue efforts. With the help of police personnel and emergency responders, passengers were safely evacuated from the overturned bus. The swift action of rescuers prevented what could have been a more serious tragedy. A few passengers sustained minor injuries and received first aid at nearby medical facilities. Fortunately, no fatalities were reported. Authorities praised the timely response of local residents, whose assistance played a crucial role in the rescue operation.

₹1 Lakh Cash Looted from Scooty Trunk in Broad Daylight in Udgir.

An incident of stealing cash worth Rs 1 lakh by breaking the trunk of a scooty in broad daylight in the Deglur Road area of ​​the city has taken place. A case has been registered against an unknown thief at the Udgir Rural Police Station in this regard. According to the information received from the police, the complainant Shivkant Vishwanath Achary (age 54, vocational teacher, resident of Sameetra Colony, Udgir) had gone to the LIC office on Deglur Road at around 4:15 pm on Tuesday (19) to pay money. He had parked his scooty number MH 55-5108 near the office. Meanwhile, unknown thieves seized the opportunity to take the scooter aside, smashed its trunk and stole a total of Rs 1 lakh in cash, including 1,000 Rs 100 notes. After realizing this, the complainant rushed to the Udgir Rural Police Station and filed a complaint. A case has been registered against unknown thieves in this case at the rural police station. The incident was registered on Friday (22). Police Constable Bhise is conducting further investigation into this crime under the guidance of Police Inspector Ashok Anantre.

In this meeting, the suspension of Manisha Mandhare was discussed. After this discussion, the decision to suspend Manisha Mandhare was finally taken. Manisha Mandhare was a professor of zoology in this college.  The incident involving Manisha Mandhare is damaging the image of the education sector. Therefore, a letter has been issued by the college stating that she is being suspended. Meanwhile, Manisha Mandhare has been arrested by the CBI and her investigation is underway.
